TalkSwitch Extends Phone System Leadership
Free software update offers great new call handling features,
auto-detection of IP phones and powerful new diagnostic tools
OTTAWA, CANADA - July 15, 2008 - TalkSwitch®, the inventor
of the owner-friendly™ phone system for small and multi-location businesses,
today announced the release of TalkSwitch management software version 6.10.
This free upgrade adds a wealth of great new call handling features that
improve performance and make TalkSwitch systems even more customizable,
further simplifies the installation of IP phones and adds powerful new
diagnostic tools.
This release represents yet another giant leap forward for customers.
With 6.10, setting up a phone system has never been easier. Analog and even
IP phones can be added in seconds. Simply connect them to the system and
they are automatically detected. Configuration is nearly instantaneous.
Additionally, a simple firewall test can be conducted to ensure the network
is optimized for VoIP calling. This test can save hours of troubleshooting
and is a huge benefit for do-it-yourself end-users, system administrators
and installers.

Amongst many other new features, the 6.10 software allows for up to 100
system-wide speed dials - important numbers that can be reached quickly and
easily from any phone connected to the TalkSwitch. Users now also have the
ability to set call handling rules based on the incoming caller ID, allowing
them to do things like block telemarketers, or have inbound calls
automatically routed to the appropriate regional sales division. This
further extends the unprecedented level of customization available from
TalkSwitch.
There is also a hotline function, extremely beneficial for hospitality
type services which enables pick up of a phone and instant connection to an
operator, front desk or taxi service and new hunt group balancing and
overflow options that help ensure the organization is making the most
efficient use of their PSTN and VoIP lines in harmony.
Software 6.10 supports the new TalkSwitch extended warranty coverage.
Customers can now opt to extend the warranty coverage period of TalkSwitch
systems by one, two or four years. Extended warranties are available for any
TalkSwitch VS system still covered by its original one-year limited
warranty.
