System Requirements
Select the TPG Message Security Service you are interested in to see
the system requirements:
For Inbound Mail Filtering (messages received by your users)
|
Domain |
You must have your own domain name for your email, not a
shared or third-party domain. For example, your email address should
be similar to your_name@your_domain.com, not
your_name@hotmail.com. |
|
Access to MX Records |
You or your email administrator must be able to change your DNS MX
records (used to direct your mail flow). If you own your domain, you
should be able to change your MX records by working with your domain
name provider or ISP. Our activation instructions will walk you
through this process. |
|
Mail Servers & Service Providers |
Supported Mail Servers: The service supports all
common mail servers, including Microsoft Exchange Server, Lotus
Domino, Postfix, Sendmail, Macintosh OS X Server, and Novell
Groupwise.
Supported Service Providers (hosted email): The
service is also compatible most ISPs and domain name providers that
host the email for your own domain. The service is not compatible
with providers that don't release mail server information, or don't
allow you to change the MX records with their hosted email service.
